Females lose more belly fat if train in the morning, not in the evening. This is the conclusion reached by scientists from one of the American nutrition laboratories.
A new study has shown that it is better for women to exercise in the morning, not in the evening, if they want to get rid of waist fat. In addition, morning exercises better control blood pressure. The authors of the study studied the physical form, health and strength indicators of men and women, dividing them into two groups. One practiced four times a week from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., and the other from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Of the 65 participants, half were women.
The workouts were the same at any time of the day and consisted of strength and interval training for 35 minutes, yoga, pilates, running and other aerobic exercises. The study lasted 12 weeks, and at the end of the experiment, its participants were, in general, in the best physical shape, regardless of the time of training.
But if for men it did not matter whether they visited the gym in the morning or in the evening, then for women this difference was revealed. Exercising in the morning was 3% more effective in reducing total body fat compared to exercising in the evening. And the amount of abdominal fat, that is, that which spoils our waistline, decreased by 7% more. Finally, women exercising in the morning had a more pronounced drop in blood pressure. However, evening training made it possible to increase the strength in the upper part of the woman's body by 7% more.
