Why late-night snacking makes you gain weight

Doctor of Medical Sciences Laura Burak said that one of the most effective ways to lose weight is to stop eating at night.

The expert named three reasons why your late-night snacking habit may be hindering weight loss.

First, you consume more calories, which most people don't need at this time of day, and your body can't use this energy, so it's stored as fat.

Second, heavier foods with a high fat content can take longer to digest, which can disrupt sleep.

Third, we all know that the foods we crave late at night aren't carrots and celery. We're looking for filling, high-calorie foods. Of course, those are the ones you should stay away from unnecessarily.
