Why women shouldn't sleep with the TV on

Sleeping with the TV on is even more harmful than we thought.
According to the results of the study, sleeping with the TV on can not only disrupt the body's biological rhythms, but also help you gain a few extra pounds.
Almost 44,000 volunteers — women aged 35 to 74 — took part in the experiment, conducted by scientists from the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the National Institutes of Health in North Carolina. All participants were weighed before the study began. Then, they were given sleep limits, i.e., bedtime and wake-up times.
Every day for the next six years, the researchers assessed the participants' weight and well-being and asked them the same question: “How many sources of artificial light (including a nightlight, a lighted alarm clock, or a TV) were present in the bedroom at the moment you fell asleep?”
It turned out that the light from the nightlight had no effect on weight gain. The same participants who fell asleep with the TV on had gained significantly more weight by the end of the experiment.
17% of them gained about five kilograms, 22% had a significant increase in body weight, and another 33% were classified as obese.
