Why workaholics are at risk of stroke

Stroke is a pathology that many people fear. It most often occurs in elderly citizens who suffer from concomitant diseases. At the same time, few people know that people who work a lot are also at risk, said neurologist Maria Becher.
According to her, the most common causes of stroke are arterial hypertension, atherosclerosis of cerebral vessels, as well as regular stress and a poor lifestyle.
Becher noted that during a stroke, blood pressure begins to increase, and the direction of the vessel and the structure of its wall change. All this leads to chronic cerebral ischemia, and then a stroke.
To reduce the risks, you need to undergo regular medical examinations, sleep for eight hours, eat right, and follow a work and rest regimen. It is equally important to change your attitude towards stress factors, the doctor advised.
