Why you shouldn't throw away the tops of beets, carrots, and tomatoes

Around mid-summer, a lot of waste begins to accumulate in vegetable gardens. Plant residues that need to be disposed of somewhere. Some burn them, others throw them in the compost or simply get rid of them. You can do it in different ways, but correctly.
Experts on plant waste
Not everyone knows, but tomato tops should not be given to animals. They are quite toxic to them. If tomatoes have been affected by late blight during the season, then such plant residues should be dried a little and only then sent for burning. The easiest way, of course, is to leave them on the beds or spread them around the trees so that everything rots. But this option is suitable only for cases when the tomatoes are not sick with anything.
Beet and carrot tops are also useful. You can not even dispose of them, but use them for salads, soups. It is rich in vitamins and tasty. If there are birds in the household, they will not refuse such a treat.
Carrot and beet tops can be spread around the bushes. This will help keep the plants from freezing on cold days. In particular, it can scare away many pests with its smell.
