Will cause blood sugar spikes: 3 unhealthy habits
0 < p>Jumps in blood sugar are quite a dangerous phenomenon. To avoid this, you should give up several habits.
Sugar consumption
“When we eat a lot of carbohydrates or sugar, a large amount of glucose is released into the bloodstream,” – says Dr. Elizabeth Arensberg. “Your blood sugar levels will rise and be much higher than your body can handle. Then the pancreas has to pump out a lot of insulin to help deal with the spike in glucose.”
… and refined carbohydrates
White bread, pastries and pasta, pastries or other foods made with white flour are not good for regulating blood sugar, warns Dr. David Brendan. They can cause your glucose to rise.
Skip a meal
“If you go too long without eating or snacking, your blood sugar will drop too much,” – says Dr. Kate Kanner. “Also known as hypoglycemia, it causes you to feel lethargic and tired because your body is literally starved of all its normal functions.”
