Women warned about unexpected cause of foggy head

A feeling of fog in the head or unclear thinking may indicate a disease of the female reproductive system, says nutritionist Jodi Relf.
Relf clarified that the definition of “fog in the head” is not a medical symptom, but it is often used by patients when they complain of the inability to concentrate, remember something or work in multitasking mode. One of the causes of this condition, in her opinion, is polycystic ovary syndrome. “Polycystic ovary syndrome causes chronic low-grade inflammation, which contributes to the appearance of a foggy brain,” warned Relf.
She added that the same feeling can occur when blood sugar levels drop. According to her, this condition occurs after eating sweets in large quantities, when first there is a sharp jump in glucose, and then a rapid decline. To avoid sharp fluctuations in sugar, the nutritionist advised to reduce its consumption.
Relf noted that absent-mindedness and inability to concentrate can also be a manifestation of ordinary fatigue and physical overwork. In her opinion, the appearance of fog in the head is a signal that you need to reduce the load and give yourself a day of rest.
