The author of a new study by Jaland Eskirol, a doctor from a hospital at the University of Tulouse in France, says: “To see or feel risk factors such as cholesterol or hypertension is almost impossible. We explored wrinkles on the forehead as a marker because they are easy to detect. ” However, they emphasize that the data should be confirmed in future research.

As part of its work, the team studied wrinkles on the forehead in samples of 3.2 thousand adults aged 32 to 62, all of which were healthy. The participants were assigned points depending on the depth of wrinkles on the forehead: zero score meant the lack of wrinkles and three points – many deep wrinkles.

were observed for 20 years. During this period, 233 people died for various reasons. Of those who died, 15.2 percent had wrinkles by two and three points, 6.6 percent had wrinkles by one point and 2.1 percent had no wrinkles. The risk of death increased sharply for people with a lot of wrinkles. These results were obtained after amendments to age, gender, education, smoking status, blood pressure, heart rate, diabetes and blood lipid levels.
