Doctor of Medical Sciences, dermatologist Janine Downey named habits that lead to early skin aging.
According to 50-year-old Downey, her biggest regret is that she did not moisturize her skin enough in her 30s. The expert explained that wrinkles appear earlier on dry skin, including facial wrinkles. Thus, moisturizing can help prevent premature signs of aging.
In addition, the dermatologist recommended not to ignore sunscreen even in winter. Downey emphasized that protection from ultraviolet rays is important not only for beauty, but also for skin health. However, sunlight is not the only problem, radiation from gadgets can also cause harm. As the dermatologist explained, such light provokes the expansion of pores, the appearance of wrinkles and hyperpigmentation of the skin, known as melasma.
In addition, Downey urged to pay due attention to skin care of the neck. The doctor also recommended applying retinol, sunscreen and moisturizers to it. At the same time, she advised to get rid of the habit of rubbing your eyes with your hands. “You can damage blood vessels, which will cause dark circles,” she explained.
