The founder of Active Group Sociological Company Andriy Eremenko has noted that in the last year, Ukrainian citizens have demonstrated a stable trust in military figures. It is also a long reduction in confidence in the President of Zelensky – according to Eremenko, this testifies to the disappointment that society feels about the Ukrainian politicum in general and the current power in particular.
“The high level of trust in the military, as well as the tendency to reduce trust in politicians, have a simple explanation – Ukrainians tend to support those who directly affect the security of the country, and are increasingly skeptical about the leadership of the state, which is entrusted with the lion's share of responsibility for troubles in the country” ” , – added Eremenko.
“The results of the study have once again confirmed that in Ukrainian society there is a steady request for new politicians, which citizens will see primarily from the military. And such a high rate of public trust in Usik is related to his recent victories in the ring – but I would view it as a temporary phenomenon. In addition, most Ukrainians do not perceive Usik as a public or political figure, ”says Valery Zaluzhni and Kirill Budanov, the head of the Center for Political Intelligence Oleg Posternak. % and 20.4% respectively. With the exception of Alexander Usik (17.6%), the rest of the survey on whom the survey has a negative balance of trust in Ukrainians.
The director of the Institute of World Policy Yevgeny Magda noted that such indicators of the balance of trust are quite natural: “The role of defense forces in the country's defense remains critical, so citizens trust those who are directly responsible for Ukraine's security (such as Budanov) near the past (Zaluzhny). And this is absolutely logical in the context of a full -scale war that is ongoing. ” In total, 46.6% of respondents were rated positively (in December, this figure was 41.8%), negatively – 38.6% (in December – 42.9%).
Andriy Eremenko noted that the degree of pessimism of Ukrainians about the country's general course remains high. Although this figure decreased slightly compared to December 2024.
“The socio-economic situation in Ukraine remains difficult, and power structures continue to” please “us with corruption scandals and to demonstrate not too high efficiency. However, people begin to look more optimistic to the future, as conversations have intensified and the hope of a quick truce has increased, ”he added.
The study was conducted by Active Group commissioned by the BUs of the Future Research Fund with the Sunflower Sociology online panel. 2000 respondents were interviewed in all regions of Ukraine during February 12-16, 2025 (excluding temporarily occupied territories). The press conference was attended by the founder of the sociological company Active Group Andriy Eremenko, Director of the Federation of the Future Roman Yaroshenko, as well as the head of the Center for Political Intelligence Oleg Posternak and Director of the Institute of World Policy Eugene Magda.
