President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said whether he is ready to lose territories for the sake of peace and guarantees of Ukraine's security.

Zelensky said that the issue of surrendering Ukrainian territories in exchange for peace with Russia cannot be accepted without the Ukrainian people.

“You must understand that any issue of the territorial integrity of Ukraine is an issue that cannot be resolved – by any president, by any person, or by all the presidents of the world – without the Ukrainian people. This simply cannot be done. This contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine. And that is why this question is exclusively ours, of an internal nature. However, this issue will be considered only when someone officially raises this issue,” the president said.

The leader of Ukraine also drew attention to the fact that there were many public statements such as “What if Ukraine gives up its territories in exchange for something, security guarantees, maybe NATO, maybe the EU?” However, no one officially offered anything of the kind to Ukraine.

“And Ukraine will never give up its territories. The authorities do not officially have the right to give up their territories. Because this is a violation of the Constitution of Ukraine… For this to happen, the Ukrainian people must want it,” he emphasized.

In addition, Zelenskyi said that the surrender of Ukrainian territories in any case is “not the best option” and would actually mean the victory of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He also noted that he is not happy with the idea of ​​simply freezing the conflict, because Russia may later make a new attempt to seize Ukrainian territories.

Zelensky also expressed the opinion that not all territories should be conquered by armed means, as this could take a lot of time and lead to significant human losses. He believes that the territory can be won back diplomatically.

“To be honest, we built the Peace Formula for this. When it is possible to put political pressure on Putin with the whole world,” the president said.
